Thought I would give a SMaSH IPA a try to see how it goes.
Obviously the recipe was basic and the hops were what I had on hand.
6kg US Pale Malt
35g Mosaic 60min
15g Mosaic whirlpool
50g Mosaic dry hopped
US-04
Cracked the first bottle yesterday after 5 days of carbonation (always struggle to wait).
On Beersmith's style guide comparison it is on the lighter side for an IPA (47.7 IBU, 5.7% ABV and 10.2 EBC although I think its a bit darker than that) certainly drinkable, but it is a bit bland.
Would definitely have been better if I had an extra 50-100g of Mosaic to dry hop with.
