Hey mate, thanks for all the recipes and youtube vids! I'm a fairly new brewer and so I've only been doing recipes like this but I'm hoping to step it up a bit with a partial mash or something. If I was to add a 1kg Gladfield American Ale Malt grain mini-mash to this would that enhance the flavour or just throw it all out of whack?

Cheers mate.

Not being a minimash man myself,it looks to me to be fine and a good way to start another process in your brewing. I cant see it throwing everything out of wack, just will bump up the OG a few points. Give it a go. cheers.

Sorry missed this message, WHat you could do is leave out the 1kg of dry malt in the boil, and use the malt liquor from the mini mash to do your boil with. If you do a mini mash with 1kg and then use the full 2kg of dry malt, its going to be a very big beer and that would probably throw it out a bit. Cheers!

Make sure you keep a log book of your brews and calculations and tasting notes etc. Looking back on your recipe im picking your going to go from a 6.6% to a 7.5% beer. So yeah i agree with Gash maybe just use one kg of dry malt. Your still going to have fun with your minimash but keep it within spec and not wake up with a sore head.(not so funny) cheers, let us know ,how you go. takecare.

Thanks Gash and Finnroo! I'll do the 1kg of grain and 1 kg dry malt and see how it goes. I want a bit of kick but maybe not a 7.5% kick! Haha. I'll keep you posted on the results.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
