You could be right Gash but what does Pebbles mean by i might have to bypass the thermostat? Nisbets.co.uk that sell that boiler are proving to be frustrating to say the least, very prompt and polite but they haven't a clue about the products they are selling bless em :)

What I meant was that as catering equipment rather than purpose built brewing equipment they sometimes have a cutout switch that cuts on and off rather than having the element on constantly like a brew kettle where it runs constantly to maintain a boil.

Its cause as catering equipment they are not designed to rapid boil for extended periods of time

Pebbles from a brewing point of view then does that defeat the point of buying a catering boiler with a thermostat? While i would like the 40 for capacity against boil overs maybe i would be better off with the original number three above? What do you think?

if ti holds 110c it will hold a boil

the elements i udef i removed the Boil cut out switching mech it can be tedious but its do able. its just a matter of direct wiring the element.

Im about to drop my 2 $8 kettle elements into a keg they have proven themselfs and my theory on an element is an element is truse its the switchgear that limits it...

I do pre boil of 32 L in a 35l pot but keep in mine i have control with siwtching between 2 elements 1 at a time without that id boil over like crazy and i still have some boil over...

TBH man the rules are there as a guide line what works works and what doesnt doesnt just matter who you are and what u do...

Prob not making sence cos im 3 sheets to the wind but my system is not ment to work and it does.... welll it has a big dick n all :)

Cheers

maybe check with the manufacturer to make sure it will hold 110 degrees :) that what I would do if the seller didnt know :)cause the 40 litre one would be better if it does what it needs to

I have been trying to track down the manufactureers site Pebbles but no joy so far. Nisbets still have not even been able to put me in contact with them.

They are pissing me off big time now, a simple couple of questions, talk about getting the run around. Just got an email from nesbits to say they have asked their buyers to look into matters and they will get back to me in due course. FFS just gimme the manufacturers website and i will check myself if ye are unable to answer me.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
