I ventured out into 3V all grain waters yesterday for the very first time (after a couple of BIABs). Surprisingly, I hit all the numbers spot on! MHB from Mark's Home Brew made some minor adjustments to his BrewBuilder recipe for me, and ended up with this (for a 40 litre knockout):

8 kg marris otter
50g Black Patent
90 min mash

95g EKG @90 mins
65g Styrian @90 mins
40g Styrian @10 mins

3 x M44 yeast

Fingers crossed.

Edit added: I just realised I didn't quite hit all the numbers. I ended up with 43 litres in the FV; OG 1.045. I'm now going to have to research how to calculate the brewhouse efficiency.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
