fermzilla pressure fermenting was created by ozdevil1
Gday All

I need to understand something here with the fermzilla 27 litre

Now i may answer this myself and not realise i have

(A) once i have transfered the Wort to the fermzilla , i just put the llid on and attach the the blowtie on the gas out let and let it does it thing

or

(b) once i have transfered the wort to fermenter , do i add 10 or 12 psi or whatever pressure as well as purging the oxygen and then attach blow tie and let the wort and yeast do its thing?

I am assuming its option A

cheers and beers

I usually do A, because I set my spunding via my gas bottle.
but sometimes, if thats hard, you can put like 15psi on top using gas, have the spunding closed, attach it then you can set it to 10psi or whatever you're using, then its up to you whether you just leave that pressure in or let it via the pressure relief valve. Cheers!

So how do you set the Spunding via the gas bottle?

couple of carb caps on a piece of line, or use the carb cap tee piece.. You can set it with a carb cap and a pet bottle even. Cheers mate!

ok i thought i set my blowtie with the spunding valve correctly yesterday when i put my brew in the fermzilla

woke up around 5:30am and everything seemed fine by 9am the guage was nearly of the rectorscale i open up the valve a little more to allow the co2 to decrease but it aint decreasing

should i be worried?

Yes, unscrew valve till you hear hissing and it goes down to the pressure you want.

it is now sitting around 5 psi , i think i am happy with that pressure for the time being

have been keeping my eyes on all day to make sure it stayed low and pretty confident now i have it set ok..

i was very worried when i seen it going of the scale.

lesson learned from this one

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
