Better Brews IPA Kit 2.1kg
Light Liquid Malt Extract 1.5kg
Dextrose 0.5kg
Maltodextrin 0.25kg
East Kent Goldings 25.0 grams @ 30mins
Green Bullet Hops 23.0 grams @ 30mins
1tsp Irish Moss @ 15mins
Kit Yeast.

Hydrometer OG 1050
Hydrometer FG 1012

ABV 5.04%.

Place 24 litres cold tap water in kettle and bring to a good rolling boil.
Once at rolling boil add the dextrose,maltodextrin,and the EKG and Green Bullet hops.
Stir well and boil for 30 minutes.
At 15 minutes add the 1tsp Irish Moss.
After 30 minutes switch power off and stir in the 2.1kg IPA Kit plus the 1.5kg light liquid malt extract.
Stir until dissolved.

Whirlpool and filter through a nylon mesh hop bag into a 25 litre cube that has been previously sanitised,
and allow to cool naturally overnight.Transfer into a sanitised fermenter the next day shaking the cube well before you do.
Pitch the kit yeast and maintain fermentation temperature around 19-20 Celsius.

Looks good! must be fairly bitter with 30 minute boil! I like how I can see your head in the stem of the glass hahaha!

It is pretty bitter allright, i had some hops needed using up and not wanting to overwhelm the stout i chucked them into the IPA instead.The 30min boil was only because i could not be arsed boiling them any longer :huh:

If that was prehopped ^^ You could of got away with 10min boil I'd reckon. Or could of left out the green bullet to the last minute.

I learnt my lesson with pre hopped cans and boiled "pride of Ringwood" hops for 30mins... WOW it was bitter. I had nothing to lose so I tried just putting a bit of pear cider in I had on the other tap. Just enough to take the edge off..

Actually now that you mention it i do have a keg of pear cider here as well that i am not very impressed with, will try your suggestion at the weekend. :woohoo:
