Recipe Type: All Grain
Size: 5 Gallons (19 Litres)
Beer Style: Dry-Hopped Amber Ale
Target ABV: 5%
Target IBUs: 25

Profile: HomeBrew recipe for an Amber Ale similar to BrewDog 5am Saint. Medium-light bodied with a huge bouquet of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit hop aromas. Flavors of caramel malts, citrus, and fruity hops. Moderately low in hop bitterness.

Ingredients:

Malts

8.5 lbs (3855g) Maris Otter
12 oz (340g) Caramalt
10 oz (280g) Munich Light
6 oz (170g) Crystal 70
4 oz (110g)Crystal 120

Hops

1/4 oz. (7g) Nelson Sauvin 12%a, 60 minutes
1/2 oz (14g) Amarillo 8%a, 20 minutes
1/2 oz. (14g) Amarillo 8%a, at 10 minutes
1/2 oz (14g) Nelson Sauvin 12%a, at 5 minutes

Yeast: WLP007 Dry English Ale or Wyeast 1098 British Ale

Dry-Hops:
1/2 oz (14g) Simcoe
1/2 oz (14g) Cascade
1/2 oz (14g) Centennial
1/4 oz (7g) Ahtanum
1/4 oz (7g) Nelson Sauvin

Instructions:

Mash all grains for 1 hour at 152 F (66.6c).

Sparge at 170 F (77c).

One hour boil with hop regimen above.

Ferment at 63 F-68 F (17c-20c).

Rack to keg or secondary and age for a few weeks. Add dry hops for the last 7 days.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
