12. Kill Slugs... Gather a few empty salsa jars (or similar wide-mouth containers) and fill them a third of the way with cheap beer. Then bury them about 15 feet from your garden, girlfriend, or whatever you're trying to protect.

Ok i am sorry to say/even bring it up but drain cleaner, i have a batch that's just nasty astringent tasting
to it and i know the problem high PH and hard water , but thankfully i know how to fix it so the
next batch/es will be better. but it pain's me to no end to have to dump 5 gals of AG to make room
for 5 gals of extract cause i only have 1 working keg, but ---- C'est la Vie

hope your all well

Well Gash I am going to try to fix it without using any cemicals, I found a water tool
called EZ_water calculator (on HBT) and with this I was/am able to figure out
a mixture of distilled and filtered water % and use a little acidmalt to bring the
PH of the mash down to where's it's suppose to be for the beers i want to brew ,
mostly ale's and ipa's, this will hopefully do the trick. This has been a ongoing
problem since I started brewing AG (last Dec) the beers it didn't affect ,two
were extract and one was an ESB that was AG but made with bottled water , maybe
two or three others (out of 18 batches) that were also made with bottled water. So there
ya have it I am on a quest of sorts to fix this so i don't have to buy friggin water
to make da beer. I'll keep you'all posted on how this is working out.

cheers

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
