Thats a hard one, I guess I'd have to say pale, kind of like this one.. usually not with gladiator malt, maybe 200g of Simpsons Medium Crystal instead. And very often there is a lot more hops, but usually the same timings for hops just different hops and bigger or smaller amounts. I love IPAs but I find it hard to empty kegs of really strong beer, so I mostly make hoppy pales or XPAs as they are known by sometimes these days. I also usually have an amber/esb on tap. the other tap will have a cream ale, ipa or dark beer.

Thanks mate.
I know all the sensible people say to brew the same beer a number of times to get to know your equipment, but I am enjoying doing something different each time. After the Pilsner I am planning on doing a dark double IPA (bit of fun to take away on a lads trip). But after that will be mostly sessionable beers. Also a big pale fan but enjoy the more hoppy flavours. Will give the above a go.
Will let you know how the Pilsner turns out, probably be Christmas before its drinkable.
Cheers
Chris

That was very lightly hopped, well compared to what I usually do, normally there'd be 20g of citra at 5min and whirlpool too, and probably dry hop too hahaha :)

Just opened this speaking of pilsners, its a bit weird having a very hoppy pilsner though. Cheers!

Ummm, not sure, but I haven't had a Dainton beer.
Blame the Yanks for the hop fetish.

Just to close this off from my perspective.
I did a taste test of this next to a Pilsner Urquell and they were similar. On top of the period of lagering it did take another 6 weeks for the beer to settle down and mature.
Would I do it again? Not until I had a second fermentation fridge. The extended fermentation and lagering kept my fermentation fridge at a lower temp than anything else I wanted to brew, so everything else came to a stop during this process.
Also I much prefer PA's, IPA's, Bitter's and Stouts to Lager's and Pilsner's.
All good fun though :) :)

I totally agree, when doing lagers you need the room for it or it stops the pipeline and I usually prefer an ale anyday anyway. Its nice to have a lager on tap but its a lot of work for a few litres of beer! Cheers!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
