Simple and cost effective wash for spirits without those weird after notes of turbo yeasts.

Plain Sugar - approx. $1 a kilo.
Bakers yeast - Lowans about $4 for 280g canister (enough for 3x 25L washes)
1/2 Lemon - Not compulsory
Homebrand Tomato Paste - approx.$4 for 500g jar. 2 jars will do 5x 25L washes

Throw sugar (5kg's) ,tom paste (200g) and juice of half lemon into about 10L of hot water straight from the tap. Mix around until paste/sugars is dissolved through and top with cold water to 25L. Yeast(90g)should be good to pitch with water temp being 22-32'C. Ferment if possible for 7-10 days 24-30'C though not critical.

The tomato paste acts as the nutrient and it can be argued there's enough acidity in the paste already, hence a squeeze of lemon optional.

Instead of lemon juice you can use citric acid only about 1/2 a teaspoon best part about the tomato paste wash is you dont need to filter your spirit

true that kezza, we have an out of control lemon tree so use the lemons as much as poss. Last couple of these washes didn't even bother and still got the job done. Cheers mate.

yeah mate realise, was doing the same. Citric acid then thought I'll just use the lemons for the same result, then realised I get the same result without. Hard to stuff this wash up.

Please excuse my ignorance, but is this for drinking or degreasing an engine block?

It's an eco friendly fuel for an internal combustion engine, mostly use in 2 wheel drive position but use enough of it and four wheel drive is a distinct possibility. :woohoo:
