G'day Gash and the Cellar Dwellers!

Starting out down the All grain route with a smaller setup 9L Keg in the beer fridge. Got the gear, just wondering on grain weight calculations for brew in the bag. Will it be a direct scaling down of the quantities of everything? Grain, hops, etc or is there some other 'voodoo' I should be aware of? Got a 19L pot, was going for about 13-14L batch, 9L into corny keg bottle the rest, hopefully can get a good collection different brews. Smaller keg means not drinking myself into 19L keg oblivion trying to turnover different beers..! Any thoughts and insights would be great, thanks and Cheers!!

Gday mate, the grain will be direct scale, the hops could be a little a different. Other than that go for it. What you should do is test the the boil off rate, you could wing it, but you'll get a more accurate brew if you do. So 19L pot.. if you're very very careful you may be able to boil 18L, anyway whoever much you feel comfortable boiling, do the boil for 60 mins and then measure again. Be aware that there will be some foaming from the wort so it'll go a little higher than just boiling water. That'll help you along, if you want a hand with a recipe let me know. Cheers mate!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
