Just wondering, the "Oats, Malted (Simpsons) (3.0 EBC)" is this the stuff?

www.grainandgrape.com.au/products/catego...den-naked-oat-per-kg

Should I just order it to be milled in with the other malts?

All done and dusted. Pre boil came in at 1.053 which was higher than expected. After boiling 21.3L for 60 mins I didn't have quite enough to fill the cube. Not keeping it for much longer than a week so should be OK shouldn't it? I cubed it red hot and layed it on its side for a bit. Next time will sparge an extra litre or so.

Its all a bit of trial and error when guessing boil off etc for the first time, your boil off may be different to mine etc,

Good to know that it will be OK. I did notice that after it cooled down and contracted the head space wasn't nearly as much so got it pretty close. Thanks again for your help with this. I'll let you know how the beer turns out!

Yep thats why I tell people not to struggle to get every little bit of air out, its bloody hot and dangerous, by the time it cools the air space reduces a lot! Cheers!

Hey Gash, finally started getting into this beer and it is awesome. Lovely mouth feel, with a chocolate + coffee taste. A ripper stout. Cheers for helping out mate!

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
