My efficiency in Beersmith is set at 76%, not sure I have ever changed it, I just used Gash's profile for the equipment.

Gday sorry I missed most of this, my notifications just arent working!
One thing if using flaked ingredients like oats or wheat, the programs are wrong, they go off the grains spec sheet, and usually they say that they get an extraction of something like 80% when in brewing practices its more like 60%.
And of course crush is a thing to look at.
Cheers!

Yes , could you do a best sparging video for best practice with the all in one systems for best efficiency Sparging and understanding the process is so important. A lot of new brewers are having trouble understanding what's going on. with this process. It would help new brewers out a lot. Cheers mate.

Brew went pretty well, I ended up doing an oatmeal stout and ended up with 71% efficiency according to beer smith. Not great but better than the last couple on the Brewzilla. I ended up with a stuck sparge which was ordinary, bloody flaked oats, I used rice hulls too so not sure what I did wrong there but came good in the end. I just saw Gash’ reply and that also makes sense as the last couple I have had issues with I’ve used flaked wheat.

Also I think I might be relying on beersmith too much as I don’t know how accurate there calculations are at times. But it also could be a user error haha.

Thanks Finnroo, appreciate your advice mate.
It’s good to get some constructive feedback. I’ve been brewing for years but only ever done extract and partials so getting into all grain I feel like a bit of an apprentice so plenty still to learn but these forums are absolute gold so thanks again.

Cheers

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
