Much better at 45 litres in fact post boil is spot on at 1050 (well done you) Pre is out but only a little at 1044. So as Gash said something about stirring pre boil before reading.
At the end of the day youve done well with 45 fermenting litres with an OG of 1050 .
If you get a FG of 1013 that will give you a lovely 4.9% Pale.
At the end of the day thats a great result ,well done.
Also Gash, I tried altering the liquor amount but it wouldnt let me independently adjust. The trick was the final amount changed to 45 litres (batch size)
Cheers , a most enjoyable little brain twister lol. nice

Your numbers sound good, except preboil, gotta be a error i the reading, which happens sometimes.

If you havent dry hopped yet leave it for another couple of days, if you have dry hopped no worries. Although that depends on your yeast and temp etc..

saying that you'll get more flavour and aroma dry hopping early, it'll just be a bit hazy for a while

G'day. So I just checked my SG after 8 days and i got a reading of 1.006. My OG was 1.050. It's looking a bit like rocket fuel. A bit of a taste and it's not too bad. I fermented at 10 psi, so there is a little bit of carbonation there. What do you think?

Hopefully my last question for this Brew anyway. I've fermented at 10 psi which probably gives me some carbonation. I'm going to bottle some of this. Do I still add 2 carb drops into 750ml bottles? Or is there another way to go about it?

Personally I dont know. But i would at least put one in and stand your bottles out at room temp for a good two to three weeks before chilling them down for at least a week. Also it might be a good opportunity to experiment with some having 2 drops and some with one. Then you'll know. Hopefully Gash will have a bit more insight into this. Good question though. Cheers

I'd keg first, then let out the pressure of the fermenter, leave it to come to room temp, let out pressure, and go from there, maybe experiment, do a couple with 1 and a couple with 2.

Brewing a familiar Dark Mild later today. (hint: Was the bastard tired? Or was he run over by a tire (tyre). No one really knows). One thing for sure. It will be a treat when done. Cheers!
