How long and when to dry hop. was created by richierichs3

When the recipe says dry hop for 3 days etc, when does that time start and finish during fermentation. I normally cold crash and have the all rounder fermentation vessel.
I recently did a Galaxy/citra dry hop for 3 days, i started when fermentation was starting to slow up and then cold crashed for 3 days. The beer had a grassy after taste to it.

Sorry for late reply, 3 days is usually 3 days before cold crash. Odd it was grassy, grassy things usually take longer than that. I usually end at 4 days and don’t have issues, what sort of hop and how much? Cheers!

50 grams each of galaxy and citra hops for 5 days and cold crash for 3.

When i took a mouth full the taste was great at first but gave a lingering strong grassy taste at the end. It went away after a few weeks.
