I use it to estimate hop additions, and for the nice brewsheets that I print and use for record keeping.

Keep in mind you have to set up your brewery equipment prior to starting a recipe, as the boil/fermenter volumes will change the appearance and IBU etc if you don't put in the proper sizes for your gear. Take a few minutes to put in your inventory as well, it'll be a lot easier for reminding yourself to buy more hops/yeast/grains etc.
